Among the starters, De Jong received a yellow card in the match against the United States, while Aké was booked in the last match of the group stage, against Qatar. De Ligt was booked against Senegal, while Koopmeiners was also booked in the round of 16.

For the Argentine side, Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuña received yellow cards in the group stage. It is worth mentioning that bookings are reset after the quarter-finals, i.e. athletes must control themselves until then in order not to lose knockout matches through disqualification.

The Netherlands and Argentina face off this Friday, at 16:00 (Brasilia time), at the Lusail stadium. Whoever wins gets the vacant place and can be Brazil’s opponent in a possible semi-final. The Dutch and Argentines have met other times at the World Cup, such as in 1978, 1998 and 2014.
