‘Harry & Meghan’: Netflix documentary gets trailer and release date

After releasing a short teaser last week, Netflix revealed the official trailer for ‘Harry & Meghan’ this Monday (5). The documentary will bring the stories of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, while they were still members of the British royal family.

In all, “Harry & Meghan” will contain six episodes that will be released in two volumes and will be directed by director Liz Garbus. The director is known for working with documentaries and produced the feature film “What Happened, Miss Simone?”, nominated for an Oscar 2016 in the Best Documentary category.

The couple had previously struck a deal with Netflix to develop productions involving the events of their relationship with the British royal family. “Harry & Meghan” promises to tell Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s versions of the events that led them to leave their positions at court.

“The pain and suffering of the women getting married in this institution, this feeding frenzy,” Harry says in the trailer, amidst video footage of his mother, Princess Diana.

“I realized they will never protect you,” Meghan said in the trailer, speaking of female figures in British royalty. “Nobody knows the whole truth. We know the whole truth,” Harry commented.

According to previous reports from Variety, “Harry & Meghan” is expected to carry an intimate account of the couple’s courtship. Additionally, the production will have unprecedented access to the Dukes’ tumultuous years as British royalty.

“Harry & Meghan” will be split into two parts by Netflix and will have six episodes in total. “Volume I” of the documentary will be released on December 8th and the second volume will be available from December 15th.
