Retrospective 2022: Guevara stands out with Aspar and deservedly wins the Moto3 title


The unpredictability of Moto3 is already familiar to the most passionate motorsports. Perhaps that is why Izán Guevara surprised as the protagonist of the season and, with many merits, became champion of the minor class in 2022




THE Moto3 it is that category that gives taste. Always unpredictable, with many disputes and surprises: what every motorsport enthusiast would like to see. In 2022 it was no different. With seven different winners throughout the year, many had the championship lead race after race. But it was Izan Guevara which has been able to be consistent with the Aspar to take advantage of every opportunity and become champion.

Guevara was an unexpected protagonist in 2022. Although he finished last season with a good eighth place, the no. GP of the Americas —, which was, by the way, his only podium in the Motorcycle World Championship.

But the second season in the entry class of the event promoted by Sleep brought a much stronger Izán. If Italian Dennis Foggia disappointed, because after the 2021 season the favorite label was imprinted on them, the Aspar duo was the positive surprise, especially in the first part of the season.

When Moto3 closed the first part of 2022, in Dutch Grand Prix, García led the championship with 182 points, just three ahead of Guevara. Upon returning from vacation, the two abandoned each other Great Britain, which kept the dispute unchanged. In AustriaGarcía went better, but fifth place didn’t affect much Guevara’s claims, seventh.

From an abandonment of García in the GP of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, Guevara was increasing the margin. Diogo Moreira: Brazilian surprise
