The reboot of “The Enchanted Rock” is renewed by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has renewed the children’s series “Fraggle Rock: Back To The Rock” for a second season, promising big changes for the Fraggles, Doozers and Gorgs, who will be forced to confront their past and celebrate their interdependence with new songs.

Launched in January, the attraction is a reboot of a popular 1980s puppet series. For those who don’t remember, “Fraggle Rock: The Enchanted Rock” brought creatures of different “races” into an allegory of the human world, where each group apparently didn’t know how interconnected and important they were to each other. Creatures called Fraggles were always in competition with other “beings”, such as cavernous Doozers and gigantic Gorgs.

The children’s show was conceived by Jim Henson, who also created puppets for ‘Sesame Street’ and ‘The Muppets’.

The new version is produced by Ritamarie Peruggi (“Yo Gabba Gabba!”) in collaboration with The Jim Henson Company, and features John Tartaglia (the voice of Enio/Ernie in “Sesame Street”) as writer, producer, voice actor and puppeteer of the stars Gobo Fraggle, as well as bringing back two original artists, Dave Goelz and Karen Prell, as Boober and Red Fraggle.

Season 2 will bring back Daveed Diggs (“Snowpiercer”), who voiced the character Jamdolin in two episodes of the series, as well as Ariana DeBose (“Love, Great Love”), Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”) and Catherine O. ‘Hara (“Schitt’s Creek”) in guest appearances.

Production on season 2 is already underway in Calgary, Canada, but there is no forecast yet for its premiere.
