Will we continue the adventures of Rick and Morty through interdimensional portals in a seventh season?
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 6 OF ‘RICK AND MORTY’
Season 6 of ‘Rick and Morty’ began by shelving (hopefully provisional) at the end of season 5 of ‘Rick and Morty’, which left us with some pretty revelations. squanchincluded the ultimate goal of the Evil Morty, as well as the truth behind Diane’s death.
The first episode of season 6 of ‘Rick and Morty’ revealed to us that Weird Rick (“bad” Rick), the real murderer of the Rick’s wife we know (“our” Rick), is actually the original Rick. The “Main Rick”. Our Rick took his place after the death of his own family at the hands of Principal Rick.
The finale of season 6 of ‘Rick and Morty’ has made it clear to us that Rick, our Rick, is still determined to find the whereabouts of Main Rick to exact revenge, and in the last episode we discover that even he built a robot by cloning himself to replace him in the day-to-day family and thus be able to focus 100% on his research. But the location of the Principal Rick is being more complicated than it seemed at first, and it seems that, in the words of Rick himself, the search will be the main plot of season 7: “Maybe not every episode, Morty, it could keep happening in the background, who knows.” But…
Is season 7 of ‘Rick and Morty’ confirmed?
Yes. In 2018, a huge number of episodes were officially commissioned, 70, and there are still many to reach that number. Also, Rick Sánchez himself is in charge of making it clear to Morty that his investigations will continue in a seventh season in which they will continue living adventures and working as a team. Or, at least, in what Rick means by “team.”
When does season 7 of ‘Rick and Morty’ premiere?
Dan Harmon stated at the 2020 Adult Swim Festival that the seventh season of the series was already in production, and this coincided with the launch of the fifth. So that, if we keep up, the seventh should arrive around the second half of 2023.
What will season 7 of ‘Rick and Morty’ be about?
As we’ve seen before, the main plot will follow our Rick’s quest to get revenge on Main Rick, but there are still gaps to fill. For examplewhich parallel reality did Evil Morty travel to at the end of season 5, and what implications will that have for our protagonists. Will we see him again?
