The second season of ‘The White Lotus’ has done it again. Week after week he has caught us with his characters. Cameron, Daphne, Ethan, Harper, Tanya, Valentina, Portia, Albie, Mia, Lucia, Dominic… Once again, the hardships of the wealthy class are questioned in a luxury resort. We will miss the hotel in Sicily. However, now it’s time to pack up and go to another new location. Mike White, the creator of the series, already has his eyes set on a new batch of episodes. What do we know about the third season?
The White Lotus’ Season 3: New Location
Everything indicates that we will change the continent once again. He’s previously noted that he’d like a third season set in Asia, telling Deadline ahead of the season 2 premiere: “I think it would be fun to maybe go to a completely different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, that would be fun.”
At one point in the season two finale it could also pinpoint the exact season three location: While Ethan (Will Sharpe), Harper (Aubrey Plaza), Cameron (Theo James) and Daphne (Meghann Fahy) are having their last supper at the White Lotus in Sicily, Cameron makes a toast to friendship, and Daphne chimes in: “Next year, the Maldives!”
Will this be the place where new guests will go in search of enjoyment and “calm” for their vacations?
The White Lotus’, Season 3: Synopsis
“The first season highlighted money, and then the second season is sex“, said White. “The type of mythology of Sicily, at least from the point of view of Americans, is the archetypal sexual politics and role-playing that you associate with opera, the mafia and Italian romance,” he explained about these last episodes premiered in 2022. “I felt it should be more focused on men and women, relationships and adultery and have an operatic feel, so I changed it.”
Subsequently, he has given a small clue about the subject that would be dealt with in this new season, evoking that the new chapters would be “a satirical and funny look at death and oriental religion and spirituality“, he declared, noting that this would be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.

If the first season arrived in 2021 and this second in 2022, we may see the third season in the last stretch of 2023. But we will have to wait for more updates on filming, casting, etc.

At the moment the new faces that will make up the new cast of the third season are unknown. And it is not known if any of the characters seen will repeat again. Like Coolidge returned with his Tanya, we could see again a face already seen.
Be careful, there are spoilers for the second season!. However, given the fate of our beloved Tanya in the last episode, it’s hard to see Coolidge in the new episodes (other than flashbacks, hard). So we will have to wait for confirmations.
