The new biosafety handbook also stipulates that it is forbidden to eat inside the application rooms
Fuvest, responsible for the university entrance exam USP, published this Friday (16) the new biosafety manual for the second phase of this edition. The document provides for the mandatory use of a mask for the entire duration of the test, as well as forbidding food inside the classrooms. The rule that differs from the first stage is in relation to the proof of vaccination against covid-19: will not be charged in the second phase🇧🇷

The document also provides guidelines for candidates on how to behave in testing venues in order to reduce the risk of contamination. He asks students to avoid gatherings, not to stop in the corridors and to go to the classroom immediately. He also advises keeping a safe distance from other candidates and applicants and avoiding unnecessary conversations.
The only time the candidate will be able to remove the protective mask will be at the time of facial identification and if he wants to eat outside the classroom.
Deadlock in the first stage
A few days before the application for the first phase of the entrance exam, which took place on December 4, Fuvest released a manual which dictated rules to avoid contamination by covid-19. The document established, as now, the use of the mask in the test sites, but the element that generated controversy was the three mandatory doses of the vaccine against the disease. Applicants should, according to the document, “bring” proof of vaccination to the time of testing.
On social media, students scheduled to take the test complained about the snap decision.
After backing out of the decision the day before and changing the rule to only two doses, Fuvest ended up not asking for tests at the application sites.
In an interview with GUIA DO ESTUDANTE, the director of the foundation, Gustavo Ferraz de Campos Monaco, he stated that “whether or not you require proof of vaccination during the entrance exam is absolutely irrelevant”. According to Monaco, the candidate applying for a vacant position at the USP should already have his vaccination schedule organized by this time, since to register it is necessary to have taken all available doses of vaccine according to the age group.
Fuvest’s director also argues that the rule stipulated in the first phase had “a pedagogical aspect”, and that the foundation has never required the presentation of the document, but that candidates bring it on the day of the test.
