This Friday, Ibovespa investors rated inflation data in Brazil and the US as in line with expectations
This Friday (23rd), the Ibovespa closed higher in its last trading session before Christmas. Financial officials rated inflation data in Brazil and the US which was in line with market expectations.
Earlier, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released its Expanded National Index of Consumer Prices 15 (HICP-15), which rose 0.52% in December, a result lower than 0.01 percentage points (pp) compared to the November result (0.53% ). The result was exactly what the market expected for the period. Over the last 12 months, and over the year, the index has accumulated an increase of 5.90%, down from the 6.17% recorded in the immediately preceding 12 months.
The Personal Consumption Expenditure Price Index (PCE) in the United States increased by 0.1% in November in monthly comparison. Core PCE, which excludes energy and food, rose 0.2% in November month-on-month, exactly within investor estimates. Thus, the index reached 4.7% in year-on-year comparison.
In the corporate scenario, Eletrobras (ELET3) communicated to the market yesterday evening that it had transferred approximately 3 million ordinary shares and 77.6 thousand preferred shares of the State Electric Energy Generation Company (CEEE-G) to the Company Florestal do Brasil ( CFB), branch of CSN (CSNA3). According to a material fact, the amount corresponds to R$ 367 million, equal to 32.74% of the share capital of CEEE-G, and the transfer took place as part of the payment negotiated in a judicial agreement stipulated by the companies.
