Everyone knows that negotiations involving big names in football are long and full of details. With Phelippe Coutinho, who is in Corinthians’ sights, it would be no different. One positive point, however, weighs in favor of the club: the weather.
As ascertained by Gazzetta dello Sportthere is no rush for any definition now concerning this matter.
It is understood internally that there are other priorities, such as maintaining Maycon and the outright purchase of Yuri Alberto, both of which are practically closed.
There are also other resolutions, such as the transfer of Lucas Piton to Vasco, very close to the event, as well as the agreement with Matheus Bidu, of Guarani. However, Raul Gustavo is on his way to Bahia.
The international window opens on 1 January and conversations continue during this period. The club’s first commitments are for the Campeonato Paulista, something seen as unappealing, so there is no “rush” to sort out the difficult moments that eventually arise.
Coutinho joined Timão’s radar this month and the parties are optimistic for a successful outcome. However, it is understood that caution is needed for several reasons.
The main one is Aston Villa, from England, the player’s current club, which shelled out 20 million euros (R$106 million at the time) to get him out of Barcelona, in May this year.
Despite his decline, the player still has a market in Europe and, if some club made him a proposal, it would be difficult for a Brazilian club, for example Corinthians, to enter the “competition”.
However, the player’s salary is high, something around R$ 3.5 million, well outside the realities of any yellow-green team. If you agree to play here, you will have to drastically reduce your salaries.
One resource, however, is his manager, the Iranian Kia Joorabchian, who has a good transit within Corinthians and, to “apologize” for what happened to Vítor Pereira, would like to bring a big player like Coutinho into the 2023 season.
The midfielder came on last Monday, in Aston Villa’s defeat against Liverpool, in the Premier League. Less than ten minutes went by and only three passes were exchanged.
