Avatar: The Way of Water became the third film of 2022 to cross the $1 billion mark in global box office receipts in just under two weeks of theatrical release.
Film director James Cameron collaborated with Top Gun: nonconformist and the Jurassic World: Domain as the only other films of the year to cross the billion-dollar mark at the global box office, according to collider. Also, the sequence of avatars it is the sixth fastest film to reach this milestone in history.
Avatar: The Way of Water it surpassed more than $300 million at the box office in the United States and approximately $700 million in the rest of the world. Achieving this score leads the film to exceed the total collected by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
