The Brazilian star picked up two yellow cards and is suspended from the next match in Paris
Neymar was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in Paris Saint-Germain’s win against Strasbourg this wednesday. In a collective, the coach Christophe Galtier commented on what happened with the Brazilian. For him, the first card was not fair compared to the number of fouls the player receives during matches.
“Neymar alternated the match between ups and downs. I can understand that there is anger in him, he really wanted to play the next two games. I understand the simulation, he deserves a yellow card, but a few minutes before he suffered a bad foul and his first yellow card is very severe compared to the number of fouls Ney has received” Galtier said.
The first yellow card came in the 16th minute after the Brazilian clapped the opposing player in the face in a speed play. Subsequently, Neymar fell inside the area and was booked for simulation.
With the red card, Neymar is suspended and will miss Paris Saint-Germain in the next match. Christophe Galtier’s team will face Lens on Sunday 1 January 2023 for Ligue 1.
