The incident will cause the network to miss the first New Year’s Eve in the United States
Fasano’s sumptuous first New Year’s Eve in New York will be without great celebrations. The restaurant closed on the 25th, in the middle of Christmas, due to an “unforeseen maintenance problem”. Only a few hours later, a leak that took place on Sunday was identified, which damaged the ceiling of the club and also the Baretto, the chain’s jazz bar, which opened in October. The internal expectation is that the restaurant will reopen in four weeks, keeping its doors closed during the most important period of the gastronomic calendar, which is the end-of-year festivities. These days only private events will be held in the boardroom, which has not been affected.
The dream of Gero Fasano, who manages the chain, the New York unit is located between 49th Street and Park Avenue, in Midtown Manhattan, very close to the traditional 5th Avenue. It was inaugurated on February 25 of this year, exactly ten months before having to close its doors due to maintenance problems.
In a statement sent to Column, Fasano informs that due to a malfunction of the sprinkler, a small shower used in fire fighting, the restaurant has suffered damage caused by water and will have to be closed to carry out the necessary repairs. The chain also says the front dining room at the Osteria will reopen to the public on Jan. 10, while the main dining room at Fasano and Baretto will reopen after the renovation is complete.
