The sequel to the action film, Troubled Waters, in which Jason Statham fights against Megalodon, will be released in our cinemas in August 2023.
At ComicCon in Las Vegas, Warner Bros. announced that The Meg 2, a sequel to John Turteltaub’s troubled waters, would be released in theaters on August 2, 2023, five years after the first opus.
Filmed last January, The Meg 2: The Trench is this time directed by Ben Whitley (High-Rise, Free fire). Jason Statham plays Jonas Taylor and is accompanied by Sienna Gillor, Jing Woo and Cliff Curtis.
It is not yet known what the story of the feature film will be like, but depending on the title, the protagonist and his crew may have returned to explore the Mariana Trench, the deepest ocean trench, to find another megalodon. .
In Troubled Waters released in the summer of 2018, Jason Statham competed against a 23-meter-long megalodon. The feature film grossed $ 530 million worldwide, with an estimated budget of $ 130 million.
