‘Titanic’: Fotogramas celebrates a special for the 25th anniversary of the film

The feature film directed by James Cameron and starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio celebrates its quarter century as a classic in cinema history that marked an entire generation.

Silver weddings. 25 years of an enduring classic that changed the future of the film industry. A quarter of a century of the 11 Oscars, of the record-breaking film, of the unprecedented visual spectacle in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, of that feature film that, from the day of its premiere, was experienced as an event that went around the world and immortalized Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio (Rose and Jack) in one of the best love movies of all time.

‘Titanic’ celebrates its 25th anniversary with the bearing of a classic and blockbuster fame, like the film that the passage of time turned into a legend of the seventh art and a regular movie buff of the collective imagination and popular culture since the end of the 20th century . The imitated and inimitable film, emulated in routine situations, stamped on adolescent folders and set up as the archetype of the film business and construction of visual spectacles.

One of James Cameron’s best movies. which premiered at the end of December 1997 in the United States, the film would reach the Spanish box office on January 9, 1998. 25 years later, FOTOGRAMAS gets back on board the most iconic ocean liner in the history of cinema to celebrate a special week that will revisit the ‘Titanic’ phenomenon and rescue exclusive content from our magazine’s historical newspaper library: from the interview with Leonardo DiCaprio and the interview with Kate Winslet in 1998 in PHOTOGRAMS, going through a filming diary of James Cameron in ‘Titanic’ or the original review of PHOTOGRAMS published at that time, to articles that will discover secrets and curiosities of filming and they will analyze the impact and legacy of the film, the professional trajectory of its cast in this quarter of a century (what happened to the actors of ‘Titanic’ 25 years later), the feat of the night of the Oscars on that March 23, 1998 or the genesis of the soundtrack composed by James Horner and of that ‘My Heart Will Go On’ interpreted by Céline Dion.

All this with the participation of a series of guests, both inside and outside the film industry, who recalled the premiere of the film sharing their most nostalgic memories with PHOTOGRAMS and answering the eternal debate that has accompanied ‘Titanic’ in its 25 years of life, causing a “schism” among its followers and being cannon fodder for memes and even scientific experiments: Was Leonardo DiCaprio included or not included in the table that kept Kate Winslet afloat?

Buy your ticket at the box office and get on board this journey through time that, this time, we can promise (and we promise), it is not in danger of sinking. There is space in first class, although we do not advise against traveling in third class to dance on the table, spit from the deck of the ship or stamp your hand on a car window. To return to be the kings of the world, once again… All to starboard!
