Director James Cameron is still riding on the success of Avatar: The Way of Waterwhich is approaching $2 billion at the box office, but questions about the future of the franchise are piling up and he provided some answers in a recent interview.
While attending the Critics Choice Awards ceremony, Cameron met the Deadlinewhere he dropped some hints about what fans can expect Avatars 3 revealing that the element of fire and two new cultures would be introduced.
“Fire has a symbolic purpose in the film and there’s a culture that specifically revolves around that concept. He’s probably saying too much as we speak,” the director said. Though he was reluctant to talk, Cameron continued to offer new information.
“In the next film you will experience two completely new cultures. Let’s meet Omaticaya, let’s meet Metkayina, and you’ll experience two new cultures in the next film, and you’ll travel a little more freely through Pandora’s world to different locations.”
Cameron’s wife, Suzy Amis, chimed in and said, “You need a really secure seat belt,” and Cameron finished by saying, “it’s a rocket sled.”
