The first outage of light occurred on one of the stadium’s light towers before the ball rolled. The teams waited over thirty minutes for power to restore, however, after this did not happen, they entered into an agreement to start the game.

In the first half, the match was quieter and Santos gained more control. The goal in the final prevented Peixe from opening the scoring. Meanwhile, Fortaleza’s best chance came from Amorim’s header that hit the post.

Things heated up in the second half. In the 4th minute Riquelme crosses into the area, Amorim hits the header and scores for Fortaleza’s run. Soon after falling behind in the table, Santos began to apply a lot of pressure and opportunities appeared. Eight minutes after conceding, Peixe got a corner kick, Thiago Balieiro went higher than the mark and leveled the dispute.

In the final stretch of the game, another light tower went out and the teams waited a long time for the power to normalize. For this reason, the referee allowed 21 minutes of injury time. Right on the last lap of the time trial, Ivonei receives a perfect cross and tries the goal. The goal establishes the classification of the Alvinegro club.
