Surprise for fans: Brendan Fraser attends a special screening of two parts of The Mummy in London

Brendan Fraser has decided to take a break from the press tour for Darren Aronofsky’s new film The Whale to surprise fans. The actor unexpectedly attended a special screening of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns in London. The audience came to the Prince Charles cinema just to watch their favorite films, completely unaware that the movie star who played Rick O’Connell in the cult franchise would appear in front of them.

I am proud to stand before you tonight. This film was filmed in the UK. You must know! And the second, by the way, too. Be proud of it,” Frazier said.

Fans felt that the actor specifically chose an outfit similar to the image of his character in the film for the visit. Frazier wore a leather jacket with a white scarf and flesh-colored trousers. The audience greeted him with a standing ovation. The actor thanked the fans for their support and interest in the film.

We had no idea what kind of film we were making when we were working on it. We didn’t know if it was going to be a drama, or a comedy, or an action movie, or a horror movie, or a romance… all of the above. We had no idea until the film was put to the test in front of British audiences. Thank you for that.

Shot from the movie “The Mummy”

Earlier, the actor said that he did not exclude the possibility of his participation in the fourth “Mummy”. Who knows, perhaps the sudden visit was a hint of his return. Fraser’s last film in the franchise was The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008. Later, the film company Universal re-released The Mummy, and the actor was not invited to shoot. Tom Cruise played the lead role.

It’s hard to make a movie like this. An ingredient that was in our Mummy that I didn’t see in that film is fun. It was he who was missing in the incarnation of Tom Cruise. It was a very straight forward horror movie. “Mummy” should be an exciting attraction, but not terrifying and scary – said Fraser.

Recall that a special screening of Darren Aronofsky’s new film “The Whale” took place at New York’s Lincoln Center last fall. At the press wall, lead actor Brendan Fraser was photographed with his sons: 16-year-old Leland and 18-year-old Holden. The event was also attended by the beloved actor Jean Moore. The plot of the drama tells about Charlie, a middle-aged man who is trying to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter. Separated from his family, out of guilt, Charlie began to overeat, reaching a weight of 600 pounds – about 272 kilograms. For Fraser, in his own words, it was a completely new experience. The film will have its world premiere on December 9 – watch the trailer here.
