“That ’90s Show” now stars the kids of the Point Place group of friends from “That ’70s Show” as they explore their teenage years in the summer of 1995.
Leia Forman, Nate, Nikki, Ozzie, Gwen Runck and Jay Kelso are the ones who meet in the basement of Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp) to talk about adventures, relationships and their brokenness.
But they also have special appearances by Eric Forman (Topher Grace), Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis), Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama).
Danny Masterson is the only ’70s Show’ actor not to return for the Netflix sequel, and it’s not even mentioned what happened to him.
Apparently, the show doesn’t take into account some of the things to remember from the end of ’70s Show, because chronologically it wouldn’t be possible for Leia to be Eric Forman’s daughter.

‘That ’90s Show’: Leia may not be Eric’s daughter, according to a fan theory
A theory proposed by Reddit user u/bored_bingewatcher points out that the show’s times don’t match the relationship seen between Eric and Donna on “That ’70s Show.”
The user points out that on “That ’90s Show” Leia celebrates her 15th birthday in the summer of 1995, so her capture must have been in the early 1980s or late 1979.
However, the latest episode of “That ’70s Show” is set in the early 1980s and Eric returns from Africa to reconcile with Donna, who had recently split with Randy Pearson (Josh Meyers).
For the accounts to work, Eric and Donna should have captured Leia almost immediately after their reconciliation at the end of the series.
While there could be a chance for Donna to get pregnant soon after, it would go against her character since both she and Jackie have always been careful not to have children.
In case Donna wasn’t careful, chances are she was having an affair with Randy, since up until two episodes before the end of ‘That ’70s Show’ they were still together.
The theory is that Leia is actually Randy’s daughter, but when Donna and Eric reconcile, he accepts the responsibility of taking care of her as his own, and perhaps without telling Leia, Kitty, or Red the truth.
This love and Eric’s commitment to staying with Donna and their daughter could explain why he let him name her Leia, after the princess from the Star Wars movies.
Even the theory has real-life support, since actors Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) and Randy Pearson (Josh Meyers) have similar features, so one would think they are daughter and father.
Although it could also be that Leia was captured shortly after Donna and Eric returned as they were overcome by passion. Even the birth could have been premature and so the accounts would match perfectly.
