Fittipaldi mentions ‘physical and mental 6 hours a day’ training in preparation for F2 2023

Eager to fight for wins with Carlin, Enzo Fittipaldi revealed he “never trained as much as he does now”, even using the same facilities Indy and Nascar drivers routinely use

Enzo Fittipaldi took the preparation for the 2023 Formula 2 season. After an excellent debut season with the modest Charouz, the Brazilian will be one of the names of Carlin, the current runner-up, and he revealed that he has stepped up not only the preparation focused on the physical part, but also working a lot on the psychological side.

The now member of the pilot academy of Red Bull spoke to the official website of the category that it carries out a daily training schedule of 5 to 6 hours — something unprecedented in his career, so much so that Fittipaldi said he currently trains in the same place where the riders of the indy and the nascar prepared, called PitFit, in Indianapolis.

Enzo Fittipaldi will race with current runner-up Carlin in F2 2023

“I did a lot of physical and mental preparation with them,” said the 21-year-old. “Also, I went karting a lot with my brother. Sure, the best preparation would be to go on the track with the F2 car, but that’s not allowed. You have to do everything possible, drive the simulator, train your neck to get to the tests of the bahrain as prepared as possible,” he said.

“I’ve prepared a lot for this season, I’ve never trained as much as I do now,” acknowledged Enzo. “I train about 5-6 hours a day, not only physically but also mentally, trying to prepare as much as possible for the 2023 season.”

In his rookie year, there were six podium finishes and 11 straight rounds in the points. Now, the Brazilian has reiterated that he is “extremely enthusiastic” about racing at Carlin. “It’s a great opportunity.”

“Last year was incredible, 16 times in the top 10, fighting for podiums, and it was only my rookie year. We fought for third place in the championship until the last round, so it was a really good year. I’m looking forward to this even more. To race with Carlin and be part of the Red Bull family, it’s an incredible opportunity.”
