After almost six years, San Paolo lost again against Corinthians at the Morumbi. On Sunday evening, for the fifth round of the Paulista Championship, the Tricolore were beaten 2-1 by their rivals. Author of the hosts’ only goal, Luciano highlighted his sense of sadness after the classic.
“Sadness, I have nothing else to talk about. We wanted to have won the game, it’s important to finish well in first place to decide all the games at home, with the support of our fans,” he told Paulistao Play.
“It didn’t work, it works during the week and comes back with everything on Sunday. We can’t lose. Today was a decision, but unfortunately we disappointed,” he added.
Despite the setback, San Paolo remain top of group B, with eight points, three more than second-placed Água Santa.
San Paolo will be back on the field next Sunday, at 16 (Brasilia time), when they will visit Santo André, for the sixth round of the Paulistão.
