‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’: Okoye Could Be Wakanda’s Queen, According to Deleted Scene

“Black Panther 2” had a scene tied to “Iron Man,” but it’s not the only part of the movie that was cut from the final cut.

The same happened with a sequence in which it appeared that Okoye could have been a strong candidate to take the throne of Wakanda: we explain.

Okoye’s deleted scene in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”

With the release of the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, deleted scenes from the film have come to light.

Although at the end of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Okoye was expelled from the Dora Milaje and remained as a vigilante of Wakanda, everything indicates that the film’s writers had another destination in mind for the warrior.

This is because in one of the deleted scenes of the tape you can see Okoye (Danai Gurira) having a conversation with his uncle, an old man from the border tribe played by Danny Spani.

The scene takes place after the death of Queen Ramonda, so the old man tells Okoye that he wants to appear in the Warrior Falls match to represent the Border Tribe.

It implies that he must fight to the death to obtain the throne of Wakanda. “And what about Suri?” she asks.

Her uncle replies that they cannot “allow the whims of a sorrowful woman to influence the fate of our great nation.”

For this reason, he suggests that she go unnoticed until the impending war calms down, so that she can later become “the leader Wakanda deserves.”

What could happen in ‘Black Panther 3’?

At the end of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” M’Baku was left with the throne of Wakanda, as he was the only contender to show up for battle at the falls.

Since this scene about Okoye was cut from the film and the story in which she fights for the kingdom was not exploited in the film, it is possible that the warrior’s fate is to remain as a vigilante.

However, there’s always the possibility that Marvel’s writers are saving up for future installments to see Okoye as the Queen of Wakanda.

But since the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” scene featured T’Challa II, the son Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) had before the Thanos shot, the photo looks to be different.

  • Chadwick Boseman also appeared in the film Draft Day, which is available on ViX+ViX’s premium streaming service.

Given that the little boy is a prince of Wakanda by blood (and that he shares the name with his father), it’s possible that he will become more important in future MCU films. He might even go as far as vying for the throne of Wakanda.

However, there are those who believe that Marvel could include him in the Young Avengers and that his future could be completely different.

In that sense, we can’t rule out the possibility of seeing Okoye as the queen of Wakanda, as suggested by the deleted scene from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
