‘Frozen 3’: everything we know about the new installment of the saga

Do you want to see Elsa and Anna again? Good news: ‘Frozen 3’ has already been confirmed on Disney’s animated film calendar. It is not surprising that Disney wants to continue squeezing the ‘Frozen’ franchise: it is one of its highest grossing and successful sagas in recent years, and it has merit that it has achieved the status of a Disney classic while many of its other films have quickly fallen into oblivion. Similarly, the next Pixar movies need a big hit after the (financial) disappointments of ‘Red’ and ‘Soul’ and that’s why they go back to basics: ‘Toy Story 5’ has also been confirmed, and hopefully it will do better at the box office than ‘Lightyear’.

‘Frozen 3’: release date

There is still no release date for ‘Frozen 3’. Taking into account that six years passed between the first and second installments… will we see the third movie in 2025? Hopefully it will be sooner after its announcement in February 2023.

‘Frozen 3’: how will the story continue?

If we remember, the end of ‘Frozen II’ left things pretty well tied up with a very satisfying conclusion. After discovering that her grandfather had been responsible for starting a war with the Northuldra community, Elsa and Anna understand that they have to rectify the mistakes of the past and destroy the dam, although the water could destroy Arendelle.

So, How will the story continue in ‘Frozen 3’? That is still a mystery, since there is no official synopsis from Disney and the film is just starting production.

Of course, the end of ‘Frozen 2’ resolved all the pending conflicts (including the mystery about the death of Elsa and Anna’s parents, who went down with their ship when they went in search of Ahtohallan to help Elsa), so that the next installment will have to find new problems and dangerous situations. We don’t know if the sisters see each other often or, now that they live in separate places, are looking forward to a reunion. Watching her life unfold – Elsa discovering more secrets about her fifth spirit status and Anna as an inexperienced monarch – may be one of the most obvious starting points for the new film..

Also how the relationship between Anna and Kristoff continues to develop, and check if Disney meets the demands of many fans and gives Elsa a girlfriend. In fact, the character of Honeymaren in ‘Frozen 2’ was already going to become a romantic interest for the character, but perhaps we will have to wait for the third installment to see it blossom or materialize.

From there, the possibilities are endless. Josh Gad, who voices Olaf in the original version, said in statements to popculture.com that There would only be ‘Frozen 3’ if “it had a reason to exist”.
