‘You’: Why Did Joe Stop Killing In Season 4? This is what the creator said

There are various theories about the Netflix series ‘You’. For example, someone says that a character did not die and could appear again in the series.

The first part of the 4th season of the series “You”, starring Penn Badgley, premiered on Netflix on February 9.

His premiere has left fans wondering why Joe Goldberg won’t be hunting new victims like he used to in previous seasons.

Why Joe Won’t Kill In ‘You’ Season 4

Since “You” premiered in 2018, the series has followed the same premise: Joe Goldberg becomes obsessed with different women, whom he ends up murdering for one reason or another.

However, from the moment the season 4 trailer was released (which revealed details of what we’ll be able to see), it was clear that Joe won’t be the main executioner in this new installment.

Instead, it is hinted that there is a new killer who, in addition to harassing London’s elite, is also after the protagonist of “You”.

In an interview with Netflix, showrunner Sera Gamble explained that the change in the course of the story in season 4 is related to Joe’s new identity, since he is now a professor of American literature living in London:

“After all, [Joe] she is in a position commensurate with the level of understanding of the books she is constantly talking about. He’s really good at it and it’s a joy for him to do it. I can say this without spoiling it too much: even when her life is completely falling apart, she still enjoys teaching. It’s fun to put someone who knows literary tropes into one of the most tropey stories, and it fits well with the idea that now it’s going to be really different.”

Other ‘You’ Season 4 Revealing Details

The series co-creator also stated that “You” season 4 will see Joe Goldberg as someone who has learned from his mistakes and will try to redeem himself through his actions:

“He’s stopped murdering, he’s learned from his mistakes, and he’ll do whatever it takes to right the karmic balance. That doesn’t just mean growing a beard and teaching American literature, it also means he might have to try to protect the same people [cuyo destino] Previously it would have at least made him look the other way if he wasn’t actively involved in what was going on with them.”

Another reason why ‘You’ Joe (who will now be named Jonathan Moore) will not be the main killer in the season is because the show will have more of a turn towards the detective genre.

In other words, in addition to ending the lives of those around him, Penn Badgley’s character must solve the mystery and discover the identity of the serial killer who is stalking him.
