David Jude Jolicoeurknown as Trugoy the Dove, died aged 54. The musician was part of De La Soul, iconic American hip hop trio. The news was confirmed by Tony Fergusongroup agent, last Sunday, the 12th (via Folha de S.Paulo).
Cause of death, date and place were not disclosed. According to newspaper report The New York Times, Jolicoeur faced heart failure and discussed it openly.
O De La Soul was formed in 1987. Trugoy the Dove had the partnership of high school friends Posdnuos It is Maseo. Shortly after the release of the first album, 3 Feet High and Risingthe group achieved commercial success.
The discography of De La Soul should hit streaming only this year. The forecast is that six albums by the trio will be released on platforms on March 3.
