In a post on Instagram, João Lee, one of Rita Lee’s sons, denied the rumors of the singer’s death, this Wednesday 1st. She has been hospitalized since Friday 24 at the Albert Einstein Israelite hospital in Sao Paulo, and since 2021 she has been suffering from lung cancer.

On Saturday 25, Rita’s husband, musician Roberto de Carvalho, informed fans that “he is recovering and getting stronger”.

“I want to inform you that Rita is fine, she is getting stronger, she is recovering. We know that there will always be monitoring tests and therapies to do, which will eventually lead to hospitalizations, given that we have to deal with the disease and the side effects of the treatments,” Roberto wrote on Instagram.

He then thanked the fans for their love. “We are grateful for the tsunami of love, affection and positivity we have received. Thank you so much. And let us move forward and may the Great Lights of the Universe guide us along all paths!” she added.
