Roger Waters plans to release new version of The Dark Side of The Moon, without Pink Floyd participation
roger waters released the first excerpt of his re-recording of The Dark Side of The Moon – album that completed 50 years on March 1st. The album is considered one of the most important of the pink Floyd and rock history, with 30 million copies sold.
No participation of any other member of the pink Floydthe bassist plans to make new versions for all tracks. waters made available a few seconds of what appears to be “Us and Them” in video on Youtube.

In the description, roger explained proposal: “I realized that The Dark Side of The Moon could be reworked, as a tribute to the original, but also to speak to the political and emotional message of the entire album.”
“It’s not a replacement for the original, which is, of course, irreplaceable. But it’s a way for a 79-year-old man to look 50 years back into the 29-year-old man’s eyes and say, quoting a poem of mine about my father : ‘We did our best, we kept his trust, our father would be proud of us'”, continued the musician.
waters also announced that the re-recording of The Dark Side of The Moon is in the process of finalizing the mix: “I’m excited for everyone to hear it.”
