In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone Brasil, Martin Gore revealed how he feels about the shows and did not rule out Depeche Mode coming to Brazil
Depeche Mode does not rule out coming to Brazil next year. With concerts scheduled in Europe and North America until December 2023, the band formed by vocalist dave gahan and the guitarist martin gore must plan the next steps according to feelings brought by the return to the stage.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil, gore treated the matter naturally, but admits that he will miss Andy Fletcher – keyboardist and founding member, who died in May 2022: “It will be interesting to see how it goes live, because it will be different and exciting. Looking around the stage, the place where andy used to stay. It will affect us.”
If the duo is enjoying the progress of the shows, the tour should gain more dates. “Well, we have plans for even a year from now. We haven’t talked about where we’ll go after that. There’s a chance we could extend the tour if we’re still enjoying it. If that’s the case, I imagine South America would be the next destination,” Martin stated.
The band’s last performance was a show for five thousand people with some tracks from memento morinext album Depeche Mode: “We played a small show in Munich. It was only five songs for an audience of five thousand people. We both feel excited to be playing live again after such a long time – since 2018.”
