Lollapalooza 2023: Planta and Raiz bring reggae to the festival together with Olodum


Singing original songs and other audience favorites, the group celebrated their 25-year career

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their career, Banda and Raiz took to the stage at the Adidas al Lollapalooza Brazil 2023at 1.20 pm alongside the Olodum group.

The feeling was that of a summer festival in Salvador: a dancing rhythm with the drums of the Bahian band mixed with the 30°C sun and a crowd hugging to sing along. This adds to the colorful balls that were thrown into the audience at the end of the show.

“I think we’re breathing again, you know? Lolla’s comeback last year was amazing, but now there’s no rain to cut the atmosphere, there’s no fear,” says Alison Mamed, 29.

The music producer decided to come to João Pessoa to see the band, which, according to him, he grew up listening to. “It’s a tough world for a reggae band to go there close to home. So I decided to come here and showcase national music,” he says.

In addition to the successes “For sure“,”oh rain“, the group played Fighting Days Glory Daysby Brown Jr. several complaints by Gilson, Gilberto Gil’s version of No woman don’t cry.
