BTS’s Jimin had no intention of joining the group until Suga’s invitation

Upon arriving at Big Hit, Jimin was training to become a rapper, but Suga recognized his singing talent.

Jimin revealed in an interview on the online talk show Suchwita (via NME), who had no ambition to become a member of the BTS. Upon arriving at Big HitMusicagency of the k-pop act, the musician was preparing to become a rapper.

“When I arrived at the agency as a trainee, I had no ambition to join the BTSI didn’t think it was my team,” the idol stated during the interview, which was conducted by his colleague, Sucks. “But it was because of you that I changed my mind.”

Sucks didn’t remember the story at first, so Jimin recalled: “The lights were off, we were in our beds. I think we woke up because Namjoon was rocking, and you were in the top bunk.”

“You looked down at me and said, ‘You’re a good singer. I really want you to be on our team.’ That’s how my ambition came about,” he added. Jimin.

Recalling the conversation, Sucks stated: “I knew what your tone was when you sang. Nobody else in the group had that tone, so I thought you could become a singer with a unique voice. I already knew, that’s why I said that.”

The musician himself decided to talk to the big hit to change the direction of his colleague’s career: “I said, ‘He should be singing. Why did you make him go into rap when he can barely rap?'”
