Leonardo and Daniel lost their respective mothers on the same day and the sad coincidence shocked and saddened sertanejo enthusiasts. But this isn’t the first time artists have had to deal with grief at times like this.
The sertanejo world mourns the deaths of the mothers of Daniel AND Leonardo. Both deaths occurred this Saturday (01). Dona Maria Aparecida, mother of the interpreter of “I love you”, has passed away at the age of 82, while Dona Carmem Costa, who gave birth to the singer of “Pense Em Mim”, died at the age of 85.
The sad coincidence of two sertanejo icons losing their mothers on the same day has shocked and saddened fans of Brazil’s most popular genre. However, it is not the first time that Leonardo and Daniel go through a mourning in very similar periods. In the late 90’s, both lost their tag team mates just 9 months apart.
Daniel’s duo partner, singer João Paulo, died in a serious car accident at dawn on September 12, 1997. The artist was driving his car returning from a presentation when, at high speed, the vehicle’s tire exploded, causing him to lose control of the steering and the car overturned several times. The sertanejo got caught in the hardware and had its body charred after the BMW exploded.
Leandro, Leonardo’s companion, died on June 23, 1998the end of a harrowing timeline that lasted only two months. In April, she felt severe back pain and decided to see a doctor. Days later, he was diagnosed with a spot on his lung and went to the US to investigate. On May 8, the diagnosis of breast cancer arrived…
