Tape has an hour of duration showing the Beatles concert held in 1963
lost tape of Beatles will be restored and sent to a UK “national cultural institution”. The recording is the first complete material from a concert by the quartet and was found almost 60 years after its production.
According to BBC News (via NME), the tape is one hour long. It was made by John Bloomfieldat Stowe boarding school, Buckinghamshire, on April 4, 1963.
The owner of the material was 15 years old on the day of the show and revealed the existence of the tape in an interview with the journalist. Samira Ahmedwho visited the boarding school to make a special program about the 60th anniversary of the show.
“It was a one-of-a-kind show Beatles, made for an audience almost entirely made up of men. And, most importantly, despite some screaming, the tape was not muted by audience reactions,” Ahmed wrote about the recording.
Most of the setlist was made up of tracks from the album. please please me (1963), in addition to some of the group’s well-known covers.
bloomfieldwho is currently 75 years old, showed interest in lending the material to be restored and stored in an appropriate place, according to the journalist: “John feels that the tape should not end, as well as other relics of the Beatlesas the property of an individual.”
