In March, Ed Sheeran made a post about the record, which replayed a journal entry from February. In it, he recounts how he’s tried, over the last decade, to carve out the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording the way he thought the album should look. I felt like I was drowning, with my head below the surface, looking up but not being able to breathe,” he wrote.
