Rita Lee wrote her own epitaph

In an excerpt from an autobiography, Rita Lee made a prophecy about death and wrote her own epitaph

Rita Leewho died last Monday, the 8th, left a prophecy about his own death and a phrase for his epitaph.

The text was published in his 2016 autobiography with the title “Prophecy.” After mentioning a series of events that she imagined would happen after her death, the singer concluded about herself in the phrase of the epitaph: “She was not a good example, but she was good people.”

Rita Lee, queen and patroness of Brazilian rock, died on the night of this Monday, the 8th, at the age of 75. The singer was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021 and went into remission of the disease in April of this year. In February, she was again admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital for monitoring tests and the side effects of the treatment.

According to the family note, Rita died “surrounded by all the love of her family, as she always wanted.”

The wake will be open to the public and will take place at Planetarium at Ibirapuera Park, this Wednesday, 10, between 10am and 5pm. Following the singer’s wish, the body will be cremated, with a private ceremony for family and friends.
