ABBA reveals what to expect from the future after ‘surreal and fabulous’ digital show

On tour for Voyage, ABBA performs digital shows with young versions of Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus

ABBA revealed what to expect from the band’s future after a digital show considered “surreal” and “fabulous” last Thursday, 26th. Formed by Benny Anderson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Bjorn Ulvaeusthe group was last seen together in public 36 years ago – and returned in 2022 to tour with digital versions of themselves.

In an interview with NME, ABBA commented on the tour’s red carpet voyage about what fans can expect. “It’s fantastic. Really looking forward to seeing the show again. I saw it once on Monday night, and it’s just this feeling, you want to see it again and again because there’s so much detail that you can’t comprehend seeing it just once, ” said Lyngstad.

“I also want to see the audience reaction again, because they were on their feet, clapping, singing, dancing. They had an absolutely fabulous time,” added the singer. Already ulvaeus said how “a little surreal” it was to see the band’s disco-era digital versions on stage, “but you get used to it. After all, we’ve seen each other in photos and videos from the era almost daily for 40 years.”

The singer also shared the original idea behind the original digital show, and noted how after the “holograms” didn’t work out, the members of the ABBA so they decided to make digital copies of themselves because they found the idea “irresistible.”

“When we decided to do this project, we thought maybe we should have some new songs on the show,” he added. Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The artist explained how the new songs were the main reason they came back. Then, NME asked if the virtual performance is a sort of parting gift from the band.

I think that’s it. Sad to say, but then again, you can always go back, can’t you? So the answer is, it might be yes, it might be no,” she confessed Bjorn Ulvaeus
