Singer Joelma was honored in Manaus after receiving the title of citizen of the Amazon this Monday (22).
Joelma been to Amazon Legislative Assembly (Aleam) to receive the honor. On the occasion, the former singer of Calypso spoke about Amazonian culture and thanked for the tribute.
“I already considered myself an Amazon by heart, now I am by title. I love this place, I love these people”started Joelma. “You have no idea what you’ve done in my life since 2004, until today. Every time I step foot on this earth, I’m blessed, I’m renewed, I’m loved and that, I always felt it here. I don’t even have words, I already got excited here today, I laughed a lot. Thank you so much everyone, it’s one of the happiest moments in my life. It’s just gratitude in my heart for these people, for this place that’s a piece of heaven and that has value. Yes the culture of the north that fills me with strength, where I don’t have it, to continue to this day”said the singer.
In parallel, Joelma continue with your performances on tour this is Calypsowhich will give life to a new DVD of the artist, with recordings made in five Brazilian cities, as happened in recife AND St. Paul.
