Lagum spoke about the resumption of shows and festivals after the quarantine and expectations for the band’s future
After almost two years away from the stage, lagoon came back in full force in 2022. Lollapalooza, john rockinternational shows are being packed with tracks from MEMORIES (where I’ve never been)(2021), the group’s last album, which features hits like “Veja Baby” and “Ninguém Me Ensino.”
And the success was so great that lagoon is promoting the first festival conceived by them. Entitled The islandthe shows will take place at Mineirão and the name has a special meaning for the group, as the vocalist explained Pedro Calais in an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil: “That’s where the band came from, because where it came from is a place that has a lake, mountains. […] The island It’s like taking this place and taking it off the ground.”
As for expectations for the European tour, Francisco Jardim revealed that lagoon will go with a “small team,” but that won’t stop them from “putting on a big show” and “leaving everything they’ve got” there. In addition, the group revealed that it is composing again, as much of the last album was ready before the pandemic.
“It’s crazy, the stuff seems old to us, we’re sick of this album,” he joked. Calais. “We are in a new career cycle, which we never imagined, both in this pandemic thing, and losing the Uncle, that it was a huge loss that will be missed forever – and now we are understanding each other as four individuals, it is a new process.”
