Kiss: Why will the band retire? Gene Simmons responds

Gene Simmons, bassist and vocalist of Kiss, described feelings about the band’s retirement

kiss should retire after tour ends end of the road – which passed through Brazil in April of this year. Gene Simmonsvocalist and bassist of the band, described feelings and explained reasons for ending activities.

“The reason we stop touring is pride and respect for ourselves, as well as love and admiration for our fans,” he said on a radio show. KLOS We don’t want to be like a world champion boxer who stays in the ring too long.

“It’s only a matter of time before your legs can’t take it, and you lose. We’ve seen boxers who have been in the ring too long and bands who have been touring too long. They forget the lyrics and you can see the wrinkles on their faces. I mean, it’s just the nature of life as we know it on Earth,” continued the musician.

simmons mentioned that he will cry “like a baby” when kiss play the last show of his career, but he believes it is necessary to maintain the band’s image: “We will retire at the top, do the best we can. It will be sad, but it will also be happy.”

Kiss in Brazil

On April 30th, Kiss performed at Alliaz Parque, in São Paulo, for the band’s farewell tour.

With the right to fire and acrobatics on stage, they performed a farewell to their acclaimed career in glam metal. The presentation of about 2 hours in the Allianz Parque was full of hits – from the beginning, with “Detroit Rock City,” in the end, with “Do You Love Me.” Check out the full review of the show here.
