The ‘Tribute of Nirvana’ project, with the Seattle Supersonics and the Villa Lobos Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Adriano Machado, announces 15 performances in major cities across the country, between September and October
Fans of the American band Nirvana will be able to get a taste of the group’s energy in an unprecedented performance in Brazil. The project “Tribute to Nirvana“, with the Argentine band Seattle Supersonics and the Villa Lobos Symphony Orchestra, directed by maestro Adriano Machado, has announced 15 presentations in the main cities of the country, between the months of September and October. In São Paulo, tickets start at R $ 60. Check out the full schedule and prices for the show at the end of the article.
The tour prepares a show with the band’s greatest hits, played in their original version. Among the songs, the set list consists of “smells like Teen Spirit“, the track responsible for taking the group’s first album to top sales in 1992, “In bloom“,”drain you“,”Of a girl“,”Buzz of love“,”Floyd the barber“,”soft lips“,”School“,”aneurysm“,”Territorial piss“, among other hits.
Each performance will last two hours and maestro Adriano Machado will bring chords that will give the special tone to the homage. The Seattle Supersonics consists of Ezequiel Dias, Estevan Molina and Christian Monteiro who have performed in other Latin American countries. After crossing Brazil, the band continues with the tour in Europe and the United States.

To this day, Nirvana is one of the main references of the grunge style, a rock vein. In 2020, at the request of fans, the group held a benefit concert in January to remember the times of Nirvana. At the time, the presentation featured David Grohl, Krist Novoselic -bassist of Nirvana- and Pat Smear, who played with the group between 1993 and 1994.
The band broke up in 1994, the same year singer Kurt Cobain died. The other band members went on to pursue careers in music. Drummer David Grohl became famous for the band Foo Fighters, in which he is a singer and still performs today.
