At the event, the duo recorded the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.
As People reported, at a certain point in the recording, O’Brien put a picture of Lennon, who looked anxious and vulnerable. “I don’t know about the anxiety, but the vulnerability is very real,” explained the singer, who commented on how John Lennon experienced many “little tragedies” early in life.
As a child, his mother was decreed not to be good enough to raise him… his father had left home when John was three. So that’s not so wonderful. It made me realize why he had this vulnerability. I’ve always admired the way he handled it, because I’m not sure I would have handled the things he’s been through so well.
