Hit by the curitibana band Young Dionysus“WAKE UP PEDRINHO” reached the top of the chart billboard of most listened to songs in Brazil; this ranking is usually dominated by sertanejo and funk.
With that, the song surpassed the remix of “Sitting (oh calica) (With MC Frog, David and DJ Gabriel do Borel)”, in David Kneip with Luisa Sonzawhich had been at number one for several weeks and has now dropped to number two.
“WAKE UP PEDRINHO” is the title track of the band’s debut album, and also went viral on TikTok. But in the end, who would Pedrinho?
According to the band itself, the name Young Dionysus came from the owner of a bar that the members frequent. In turn, Pedrinho is a customer of the establishment who sleeps after drinking beer. The championship mentioned in the song would be snooker.
