One of the greatest rock bands of our time, Red Hot Chili Peppers released thirteen studio albums throughout their career, since they were formed in 1983. However, bassist Michael Peter Balzarybetter known as fleahas his favorites, as well as the one he hates.
During an interview with Los Angeles Timesthe musician made a retrospective about his extensive career in music. flea talked about the debut album The Red Hot Chili Pepperswhich bears the same name as the band, released on August 10, 1984. In fact, he would even like to re-record the work completely.
“I always regret the way we made the first record. I think the songs are great,” he said. “Our band was smoking at the time. But the [baterista] jack [Irons] and the [guitarrista] Hillel [Slovak] left, and we hired these two other guys: Jack Sherman It is Cliff Martinez.”
Then, the bassist explained how these changes had a direct impact on the way Red Hot Chili Peppers made music: “Both were great musicians, but the connection wasn’t as deep as we had with the guys we started with. I’ve always wanted to go back and re-record that album, but I can never convince anyone to do it.”
