Pop star Anitta is immersed in an intense creative process. She, who will be releasing her first album on Republic Records in 2024, at least already has it 60 songs readyfrom where she and her team will select a few for yours unreleased disc.
“We already have more than 60 songs and we want to release the album next year. Now we are choosing among all these songs because there are many and they are good”, he said Annita at a press conference held on Friday (18). “We recorded in Portuguese, in English, in Spanish… it was crazy. But, wow, it’s amazing. We showed the fans a little bit and they are super happy.”
The album will contain, the one with the tracks Funk Rave, Casi Casi AND used to bewhich were recently released in a beam special this week, will be attended by Sam Smith AND Chloe.
Annita he also explained the difficulty of translating Brazilian funk into languages such as English
is Spanish: “It’s hard because there’s a new beat out there. Whether it was reggaeton or pop or pop rock, you already have playlists with those beats. There’s a way to put one song in context with others. In the case of funk, it’s not there’s ‘t, so you waste some gas of having a movement ready. You don’t join a movement, you create a new one”observes the artist.
And he concludes: “Here in Brazil it’s difficult because it’s in another language. People listen less because it’s not in Portuguese. As we know, 95 or 98% of the charts in the country are in Portuguese. For me it’s doubly complicated. But I think the formula for overcoming these challenges is to persist and believe in the process, regardless of the results and feedback.”
