This is the festival’s second cancellation in less than 24 hours. On Thursday evening, the 24th, the band Queens Of The Stone Age announced they will no longer be performing at the event due to ill health. In their place will perform the trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Payne also had shows booked in Peru, Colombia, Chile and Argentina. So far, the singer has not revealed the new dates of the presentations.

In a video released on Friday 25, the singer appeared shaken and explained the reason for the postponement. “That’s the last thing I want to tell you. Basically, I’ve been sick lately and ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection.”

The artist said he had also begun rehearsals for the tour, but his doctors had warned him it was “not the right time” to be on the road, as he would have to recover at home.
