“We put it in this morning because there’s no chance we’ll miss the grid”; The first edition of the festival started this Saturday afternoon, 2, in Interlagos
Fan love can really break down barriers. That of fear and that of sleep have certainly been overcome by the tattoo artist Roberto Feltran, 25, and by the civil servant Camila Lamin, 24, who have been camping since Thursday 31 in front of the Interlagos racecourse, where The cityfor their idolatry Demi Lovato.
“We are a group of 14 and we took turns: one group came in the morning, another in the afternoon, another at dawn,” describes Camila. “For Demi I give my life.”
Despite the difficulties they encountered camping out on the street for two days, they said the space was well guarded. “They also gave us the telephone so we could call if there was any attempted robbery or violence,” says Roberto.
The gates of the first edition of The Town opened promptly at 2pm this Saturday 2, and the long-awaited show will only take place at night, after 8pm, but the duo have a secret to hold on to for so long. “We have diapers because there’s no way we’re missing the railing. From this railing here, just the stage railing,” said Roberto.
“We put it this morning because there’s no chance we’ll lose the network. The other days we use the toilets of the bakeries and cafes on the street,” explains Camila. “After Demi it will be time to enjoy the festival,” they said.
For the American singer, her friends Natália Rabelo, 26, and Lucca Santos, 23, also arrived today at 5 in the morning. “After so many years camping out to see a show, to get a place on the grid, we’ve learned that we have a bit of luck if we can get to the front,” Natália explains.
“We’ll see Tasha and Tracie at 2.40pm on stage at The One and then head to the Skyline to reserve our seats. But we’ve also made friends with Post Malone fans to take turns on the grill,” Lucca says.
If for some company is essential, for Zilda Dourado, 70, retired, this is not a problem. She prepared with backpack, cap and sneakers, she came from Bahia, alone, to enjoy the day. Arrived at 9am to find a large crowd of people ready to enter.
“I’m here more to see the space, to get to know the festival. I have no artistic preferences, but people are talking about this Demi Lovato,” she admitted.
“Everyone wants to reach my age with my spirit. I’ll be a little far away, I won’t be near (to the stage), no. It’s crazy. Just being here was worth it,” he says.
