Porridge, from Ultraje a Rigor, remains “sedated and in control of cranial hypertension”

Details of the musician’s treatment, shot in the head last Sunday (3), were updated at a press conference this Tuesday (5)

Porridgebassist of outrage to rigor, remains sedated in a neurointensive unit, with cranial hypertension under control. The announcement was made at a press conference at the Sao Luiz do Itaim Hospitalin São Paulo, in the beginning of the afternoon of this Tuesday (5).

The neurosurgeon was present at the press conference. Manoel Jacobsen Teixeira and representatives of the hospital’s ICU. They gave updates on the health status of the musician, who was shot in the head in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, early on Sunday (3).

“We saw Porridge on Sunday, we did the classic and appropriate exams for the situation — including imaging tests from head to toe. He went to the operating room, since there was head trauma, to prevent infections and remove situations of clots that are formed in the traumatized tissue. Everything was done according to the norms and the appropriate techniques. He is in a neurointensivist unit. Jacobsen Teixeira.

Already the doctor Thiago Romanoresponsible for monitoring Porridge in the ICU, detailed:

“Traumas of this magnitude have 3 phases: trauma, brain swelling and vigilance (awakening, infectious control). Today, Porridge is sedated and is in the control phase of cranial hypertension.”

Jacobsen also said that it is difficult to establish a prognosis given the biodynamic conditions of the case – he clarified that the surgery is not over yet and that the musician is still under observation. The ideal, according to him, would be to assist the artist in the city where the case took place.
