Touring with Slipknot is ‘f***ing hard work’, says Corey Taylor

Corey Taylor plans to retire from Slipknot in five years

With several works in music, Corey Taylor revealed difficulties as a member of the Slipknot – according to him, it is a “hard job.” It’s worth remembering how the singer still has a solo project and another band, called Stone Sour.

During an interview with Rock Feedthe artist explained how there are still “maybe five years” left until a high-profile tour of Slipknot. He wants to play shows “as long as I can physically do it,” but would help the band “find someone” if he retires.

“I do my best to really try to take care of myself,” he said. “Now I have a lot of miles on me. This is hard for me. People don’t realize this, but when I walk, I have almost constant pain. It’s my knees, my feet. I have a broken toe in this foot. I have gout in my feet. . It climbs up my joints and shit.”

Yes it is hard. I’m not as agile as I used to be. I’m not 35 anymore. It’s hard, but there are ways to do shows that don’t require being so crazy right now.

Right away, Corey Taylor explained how “traveling is not conducive to being healthy,” and all this intensity of shows and commitments makes you “eat like shit” and “sleep like shit” on a regular basis. “And nine times out of ten, you’re going to sing like sh*t,” he commented. “We don’t want that. So it’s difficult.”

“Even a guy at my level, there’s not always well-prepared catering, the best food and the best people,” said the singer. “Sometimes it’s a soggy sandwich at 12:30 a.m., and you look at it and think, ‘If I put that in my body, I’m going to throw up.'”

People don’t understand that. Do you know why they think that? It’s because that’s all they see on Instagram, on TikTok, this and that, and you’re seeing the commercials. There were times when we left the stage, went straight to the airport and flew. We didn’t sleep until seven the next day. And now we are all [exaustos].

“Our team gets even worse, because they have to come in, make sure everything’s okay, and then they can take a nap. So it’s not fun all the time, man. It’s tough. It’s hard work. Even at our level, It’s hard work,” he concluded. Corey Taylor.
