“Our legal team will work,” wrote Evandro Fióti, Emicida’s brother; fans point out that there are conceptual similarities
The new song by Juliet with Duda Beat, Yellow magicit was released on Tuesday evening, the 17th, and immediately became the subject of controversy on social media, even accused of plagiarism.
The similarity of the single with Yellow, album and audiovisual project by Murderous, it became a topic overnight. Evandro Fióti, the rapper’s creative partner and brother, supported the accusations and said that the artists’ music was released for an advertising campaign.
“It took us 12 years to win a Grammy. And the work that won us a Grammy was just stolen conceptually,” he said.
Juliette’s office spoke about the case Wednesday morning. According to the artist’s team, those responsible for the campaign are being sought.
“We inform you that the song is part of an advertising campaign and that Juliette has been hired as one of the performers of this audiovisual work,” the note informs. “The singer’s team is in contact with the contractors responsible for the creation and production of the campaign for further clarification.”
Understand the case
On his social media Evandro explained that, probably before Juliette and Duda Beat, the advertising managers had contacted the Emicida team.
“This brand negotiated with us,” Fióti said on air. “We didn’t reach an agreement, due to schedule, deadline and financial issues. The budget they had didn’t justify the delivery we needed to make.”
This Wednesday, the 18th, he showed on his social networks that it was a campaign of Bauducco.
“Do you know about appropriation and everything we talk about ethics?”, wrote Fióti. “So there is very little in this market. Without criticizing the artists, who I even admire. But our legal team will work.”
Wanted by State, the brand did not respond. The space remains open.
What compliments for “Originality” and “Diversity” if this wasn’t the deal, what would it be?
This market does not surprise us at all. https://t.co/QFl6LTTSwQ pic.twitter.com/T9atyjbTyE

What are the similarities between ‘AmarElo’ and ‘Magia Amarela’?
Fans of Murderous stressed that the plagiarism would be conceptual and visual.
Similarities in the meaning of the lyrics have been pointed out, which play on the words “yellow” and “I love them“, as was done in the rapper’s work.

Furthermore, similar typography and even stained glass in the background was used, as was adopted in Emicida’s shows for the album.
Just don’t see anyone who doesn’t want to
Do you know what further indicates that it was intentional?
Apparently this song is an ad for a brand that tried to shut down Emicida and it didn’t happen and then right after they came out with this?
Seriously guys, what a lack of respect… pic.twitter.com/g3qLkeHy6H
