Magazine scoreboard drawn up a long list of the top 500 songs pop of all time this Thursday the 19th. The selection is commemorative, as the publication celebrates 65 years of the Billboard Hot 100, a chart that lists the greatest hits of the music industry.
Names like ABBA, The Beatles AND Whitney Houston are among the selected highlighted songs. Visibly, the scoreboard he didn’t just select pop songs to make up the list, but explained that the criterion used was the concept of “popular songs”.
“Pop is the backbone of not only the music industry, but culture in general,” the publication explains. Successes of rock, R&B AND rap music were highlighted in the magazine. The only criterion used was that each song had once been on the Hot 100, with the exception of a few hits from the 1990s which were ineligible for the chart at the time.

In 49th place there is a song condemned for plagiarizing a Brazilian song, Somebody that I Used to Knowpartnership of Gotye with Kimbra. Before the success reached the top of the charts, the Australian musician had to pay a compensation of 1 million dollars and a credit Luiz Bonfaauthor of Sevilledied in 2001, as co-author.
The information comes from The Telegraph newspaper. At the time, Gotye’s team did not go into detail and only said that the issue is something they “don’t really discuss.” A scoreboard did not cite the agreement, saying that the song uses a sample of a 1960s Brazilian instrumental jazz song.
