Soweto: the group’s ‘out of tune’ performance at the Multishow Awards is criticized online; clock

Recently, the group announced its return to celebrate 30 years of touring with Belo. The singer’s consultant criticized the “lack of harmony” in the headphones; The awards ceremony said it will monitor the artists’ alleged non-return

The group Soweto suffered criticism on social media this Tuesday 7th, after making a presentation deemed “out of tune” on the Multi-show Award. Recently, Soweto had announced a special tour with Beautiful to celebrate the group’s thirtieth anniversary.

OR Estadao has reached out to the group’s team to comment on the criticism, but has yet to receive a response. The space remains open.

Belo has become the main target of negative comments. “Belo is too tone deaf,” one user noted on Xold Twitter. “Is Soweto really back toneless?” asked another.

In a statement to Estadao, the singer’s consultant stressed that “this is a live program” and said that “the reference in Belo’s headphones did not reach harmony”. “Then we equalized and he did what he always did: the best,” said the artist’s team.

Other Internet users spoke of an alleged failure of the artists to return, which would have jeopardized the show. In contact with Estadao, the Multishow Prize press office has said that it will verify whether the error actually occurred. As soon as there is a response, the article will be updated.

“Guys with the sound of the Multishow Award and other awards: let’s be more careful not to offend the artist. Soweto was in trouble at the beginning of the presentation,” asked a netizen. “The multishow splits the singers with decreasing takings”, underlined another.

Soweto performed for about 4 minutes during the ceremony and sang the group’s biggest hits, such as Dere, The World of Oz AND It wasn’t for nothing. This year the Multishow Award was broadcast for the first time on TVGlobo. The highlight of the evening was the singer Izaawarded in the Artist, Cover and Pop of the Year categories.
