Dua Lipa acquires the rights to her music collection again

The news comes two years after Dua Lipa broke up with TaP Management, which owned the publishing and recording rights to all of the singer’s songs.

Dua Lipa secured the rights to his music catalog in a new deal with his previous publisher, TaP Management. Both worked together for more than eight years before breaking their contract in early 2022. The artist’s father, Dukagjin Lipahas been his manager since then.

In a statement from TaP Management, it was confirmed that the singer will now hold all publishing and recording rights for all songs. “We wish Dua [Lipa] all the best for the future”, said Anna Neville, co-president of TaP Music.

This is an exciting time for our publisher – we are expanding our services and teams globally and continuing to add talented writers and artists to our already stellar roster.”

The company operates a record label and a publishing company with the Universal Music Group and has in its catalog names such as Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, NoahCyrus and more.

The announcement was confirmed shortly after Lipa promote the release of their new track “Houdini”which will be released this Thursday (9), according to a series of teasers on your social media platforms. The song, produced with Kevin Parker (tame Impala), will be the first single from the singer’s third album.

Dua Lipa follows in the opposite footsteps of colleagues such asJustin bieber,Iggy Azalea, Genesis, Skylar Gray, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Shakira, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Mötley Crüewho have also sold their music catalogs in recent years.

The trend has been popular among renowned veteran musicians who have left their musical legacies in the hands of specialized music companies, who then professionally control all their publications, while receiving large sums for their heirs.
